About woods edge estates
Woods Edge Estates is a gorgeous acreage community of single family residences. It is located in Fort Bend County outside the Richmond, Texas city limits and in the shadows of Houston. Many of our streets are lined with massive oak and pecan trees. Any direction you look, you are likely to see a beautiful view of nature with colorful flowers, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, sometimes fireflies, squirrels, and so much more. People are walking alone or together, riding their horses, walking their dogs, riding their bikes, or driving their antique cars. You might even see a llama or a pygmy goat while you are out. From our babies and children in a growing number of young families to our more “experienced” members full of wisdom and reminiscence, we have people of all ages and all walks of life. Our neighbors are friendly and wave when they go by. We are “a little bit country” while being close to many amenities. It is a peaceful and beautiful place that we love to call “home.”
Woods Edge Estates is one great neighborhood that is divided into four sections with three different HOA’s. The subdivision was developed by Robert F. Wheless, whose family owned a great deal of real estate in this area and other surrounding areas of Houston. Mr. Wheless was the President of WoodsEdge, Inc., which became Woods Edge, Inc. He filed the first set of deed restrictions (Section 1) in March of 1979. Section 2 began in 1980, and Section 3 came along in 1981. At one time there was a Section 4, but it became Section 1A. In the beginning, all of the deed restrictions were almost identical. Over the years, each section has a set of similar, but not the same restrictions.
